My name is Erik Swenson. My wife, Heather, and I have four boys and one girl. We had some bunnies but sold them. We also had some fish but they died.
By trade I am a painter, illustrator and graphic designer. I sort of always knew this is what I’d be doing. I loved crayons so much that I once stuck a broken crayon up my nose. It had to be removed with a pair of tweezers.
My first painting sale was a small watercolor that went home with my high school art teacher.
I sold my first drawing to a garage sale patron at the end of my neighbor’s driveway. It was a picture of a tree.
My first logo design was for my friend’s lawn care business. It was a hand drawn image of him on a riding mower. He was wearing a motorcycle helmet. I don’t think he paid me anything.
Basically, my job is to communicate. We all have a story to tell and a message to share. I try to help individuals, small businesses and churches tell their story and share their message. I’m always taking on new projects and I’d love the chance to work with you!
Feel free to contact me about your project.
Erik agreed to help me with a very vague and high level assignment: To design a logo for a product that I have yet to create. We had only two, short conversations about my vision / product before Erik not only nailed what I was looking for, but he took it to another level with his creative techniques and expert advice on color schemes and branding. He translated my vision into reality and really added momentum and excitement to the product design efforts underway. Now, we all had something to rally around with the simple creation of this logo! It brought the work to life. Erik is easy to work with, accessible and responsive – all of which are key when partnering with individuals remotely. I would strongly recommend Erik for any of your creative, branding, or editing needs. He is an all-star “utility player” and can support your organization’s needs in a variety of ways.

I have worked with Erik now on two projects. Communication was a breeze! I briefly described what I was envisioning and what I wanted the logos to communicate—he promptly returned spreads of options. Very satisfied and I tell all my friends.

I have worked with Erik now on a number of different projects, from designing a logo, to creating hand-sketch drawings for use in various teaching platforms here at Woodland Hills Church (power-point slides for classes, teaching videos for online courses, etc.) Erik is not only a very creative and gifted artist, but works very affectively to really understand what I am trying to convey through the graphics. He is very dependable and I have been extremely satisfied with the work he has done for us!
